Band Biography

Hunger’s Mother have been a staple of the Irish rock scene since February 05. Influenced primarily by the hard driving blues/rock bands of the late 60’s and early 70’s, their live shows remind us of everything we love about riff driven, bluesy hard rock. Unlike some other rock bands on the scene, Hunger’s are not a one trick pony, simply rehashing familiar DC and Zeppelin riffs. You can hear everything from Allman bros/Gov’t Mule influenced jams aswell as heavy, stoner friendly riff fests through to complex, progressive elements without ever losing the feel and groove of the original blues/hard rock blueprint. Simply put, Hunger’s Mother ROCK!!
Their first self titled album released Christmas 05 became very popular in underground rock circles despite or because of the fact it was recorded live in one afternoon! The follow-up, “Spies of Torr” released January 09 is a more mature and refined effort and their own sound and identity is now present. Sonically and musically this is their best effort yet. “Spies of Torr” has been self released on their own “Cabra” label.
